The Full Story
Meet Bella
Isabella 'Bella' Smith is a neurodivergent young adult who struggled with public school, bullies, teachers, and making friends. She was diagnosed with level 1 autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at 6 years old. 'Mainstream' education wasn't working. From teachers who were not equipped to help, to being sexually assulted, to being threatened with a gun for simply being autistic, and the lack of school admin support, public school was not the answer.

After tiredlessly searching, her mom found the solution. A school that specialized in educating neurodivergent and disabled students. With their help, Bella made friends, her grades soared, she gained confidence, learned life skills, became independant, and she graduated highschool with a 4.0 GPA and will attend college in September 2024. To get her there, her mom worked around the clock at two jobs to simply afford the tuition. While we are truly grateful for the change the school made for Bella, parents should not have to do that to ensure their children are getting the help they need to succeed. We want to make access to this type of education affordable for all families in South Florida and beyond.
